What you'll need
Get your embed script
In DutyPilot, open Customization โ Install. You'll find a one-line script tag with your workspace ID baked in โ no separate configuration file needed.
The script is under 15 KB gzipped, loads asynchronously, and never blocks your page's rendering or hurts Core Web Vitals.
Paste it into your site
Paste the script just before the closing </body> tag of your website. The widget bubble appears on every page where the script runs.
Platform shortcuts: in WordPress use a plugin like WPCode or your theme's footer setting; in Shopify add it in Online Store โ Themes โ Edit code โ theme.liquid; in Webflow use Project Settings โ Custom Code โ Footer; in Wix use Custom Code (body-end); in Next.js/React, put it in your root layout or use next/script with the afterInteractive strategy.
Brand it in the customization studio
Back in Customization, make the widget yours: set the bot's name and avatar, the greeting message, accent color, and optional suggestion chips that nudge visitors toward common questions.
You can also enable pre-chat contact capture to collect a name and email before the conversation starts โ useful for lead routing.
Test the conversation
Reload your website and click the chat bubble. Ask something your knowledge base covers โ DutyPilot answers instantly with citations, and if the question is out of scope the conversation is flagged for staff takeover.
Messages appear in your unified inbox in real time, alongside WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger conversations. The widget works on mobile browsers too, with the conversation opening full-screen.
